Jeanie's Farewell Party

A farewell party for Child and Family Opportunities’ Executive Director, Jeanie Mills was held on Wednesday, December 2nd 2009. Jeanie, who has led the agency for the past 16 years, has announced she will be moving on to other opportunities in early 2010. More than 45 people representing staff members, the Board of Directors, community partners and friends attended the event at CFO’s headquarters on Avery Lane in Ellsworth. Local vendors, caterer Elizabeth Pouwels, the Bud Connection, and cake-maker Lorena Stearns all helped to provide the special touches that made this event truly wonderful. The decorations were created by the children from many of the agencies 14 childcare/Head Start Centers. Infant toddler and Pre-school classrooms were open for community members to explore and enjoy. While it was a bittersweet experience to begin to say goodbye to CFO’s inspiration leader, it was also a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the agency and both its accomplishments of the past, and vision for the future. The search to find a successor to Jeanie is underway, and as the agency starts its 40th year, it is with confidence that CFO will find an Executive Director who can continue the great work that Jeanie has done.
